"You've Come A Long Way Baby" wasn't just Fatboy Slim’s commercial peak – it solidified his status as a global dance music phenomenon. Released in 1998, the album arrived at a pivotal moment, pushing big beat, breakbeat energy, and witty, sample-heavy experimentation into an instantly recognisable, genre-defying sound. Tracks like “The Rockafeller Skank,” “Praise You,” and “Right Here, Right Now” became international anthems, soundtracking a generation and propelling electronic music further into the mainstream.
Approaching three decades later, Norman Cook remains one of dance music’s most enduring and influential figures. From the iconic music videos and stadium-filling performances to recent festival appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella, and beyond, Fatboy Slim continues to bridge generations of fans with a catalogue that still feels euphoric, playful, and culturally vital. His influence can be heard across today’s electronic and crossover artists who draw on the same collision of dancefloor energy, crate-digging creativity, and pop immediacy that "You've Come A Long Way Baby" perfected.
