Drummer Johnathan Blake's powerful third Blue Note album, "My Life Matters," is a suite of music commissioned by The Jazz Gallery and carries a dual message: the importance of family values and the societal duty to stand up against injustice. Produced by Derrick Hodge, the album features Blake with saxophonist Dayne Stephens, vibraphonist Jalen Baker, pianist Fabian Almazan, and bassist Dezron Douglas, plus special guests Bilal and DJ Jahi Sundance.
