Aram Khachaturian's Piano Concerto is among those classical works rarely performed and even less frequently recorded. The dream team of pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductor Gustavo Dudamel, is changing this. "A passion-driven reading of the concerto," the Los Angeles Times called it. The album combines the concerto with short solo piano pieces, including the immortal Adagio from 'Spartacus', the Sabre Dance, and the Masquerade Suite.
