Bill Henderson may not have been a household name among jazz vocalists, but this 1963 release raises a valid point that perhaps he should have been. Of course, performing this mix of jazz standards with the Oscar Peterson Trio, including Ed Thigpen (drums) and Ray Brown (bass), might have made a less talented artist look better. But Henderson matches the group's talent, elevating classics like "All or Nothing At All" and "You Are My Sunshine" with his own unique perspective.
