After the overwhelming success of The Sidewinder in 1964, trumpeter Lee Morgan followed up his success in 1965 with The Gigolo. He plays on this album with Wayne Shorter, Harold Mabern, Bob Cranshaw, and Billy Higgins. Hits from this hard bop set include the groovy opener "Yes I Can, No You Can't" and the swinging, up-tempo "Speedball."
