Description
German jazz pianist Jutta Hipp is one of the most intriguing, yet lesser-known, figures in Blue Note history. Shortly after moving to New York in 1956, she recorded the charming live trio album "At the Hickory House" with bassist Peter Ind and drummer Ed Thigpen. Vol. 1 presents a series of standards and bebop themes that showcase her hip, lightly swinging style.
