Imagine Dragons

With a sound that mixes alternative rock and EDM, Imagine Dragons has become one of the biggest American bands of recent years.

At a time when there seems to be no room for new, major rock bands that can appeal to a young audience, Imagine Dragons is one of the hopeful exceptions. The band formed in Las Vegas in 2008, eventually settling on a permanent lineup consisting of singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman. In the early years, they released several singles. Imagine Dragons also built a large, close-knit fan base by performing extensively. All that preparatory work paid off with the release of their debut album, Night Visions, in 2012, which was an instant success. Initially in their home country, but their captivating blend of alternative rock, pop, and electronic influences quickly became a global hit.

The band tours again, further increasing their popularity. Once again, the results are convincing. Their second album, Smoke + Mirrors, reached the top 10 of the album charts worldwide in 2015, including in the Netherlands. It even reached number one in England and their home country, the United States. Imagine Dragons has become a ubiquitous presence. The band tours almost constantly, performs on popular talk shows, and their songs are used in various soundtracks. The overwhelming power of these performances is perfectly captured on the DVD and Blu-ray Imagine Dragons: Smoke + Mirrors Live. Riding the wave of success, Evolve (2017) and Origins (2018) also became huge hits. Imagine Dragons has now sold 20 million albums, records that have been showered with all the music awards that matter. Imagine Dragons are the heroes of a new generation of music fans.
