Pianist Yunchan Lim, then 18 years old, played Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto during the final of the 2022 Van Cliburn Competition. He delivered a phenomenal and moving performance that brought tears to the eyes of conductor Marin Alsop and many in the audience. "From the moment we started playing together, I noticed how incredibly musical Yunchan was, and that he seemed more like an old soul than a young artist," Marin Alsop said afterward.
