Since the 1940's, Library Music has lurked in the shadows, peripherally touching our lives through TV, radio, and film. Among the stalwarts of the industry, UK's studio G- while smaller in scale compared to icebergs Bruton, KPM, and Chappell- nevertheless packed a punch, leading to cues heard on Doctor Who, Top Crown and The Snooker, not to mention samples used by The Chemical Brothers, UNKLE, Tyler, the Creator and Knxwledge. The Jazz Dispensary team's latest comp, Dream a Dream with Studio G: Cratedigger's Archive (1970-2009), culls some of the most sought-after cuts ever produced, meticulously stitching them together to form two seamless fever fantasies apropos for the 22nd century with liner note commentary from Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley, and illustrations by Ivan Minsloff.
