Zwangere Guy has often had to explain the idea behind his stage name. Gorik van Oudheusden, born on May 10, 1988, in Ukkel, Belgium, was active for a while as Omar G in the hip-hop collective Stikstof. At 16, he went solo, and we soon became acquainted with Zwangere Guy. His stage name consists of two words that don't really go together. It's a conscious choice that exemplifies the freedom and creativity with which Zwangere Guy writes his lyrics. And, as he's also explained before, a man can, of course, be pregnant with ideas. Speaking of which: in 2017, he released his debut album, Zwangere Guy Vol. 3. Zwangere Guy immediately made a name for himself with his idiosyncratic musical and lyrical approach, often managing to avoid typical hip-hop clichés. And indeed, there's no shortage of great ideas. New albums are being released at a rapid pace: Wie Is Guy and BRUTAAL in 2019, BRUTXXL in 2020, and Porriture Noble in 2022. Zwangere Guy is also developing into a true festival act, appearing in recent years at Rock Werchter, Lowlands, Down The Rabbit Hole, Dour, and the renowned Lokerse Feesten. In 2023, he also made his acting debut in the feature film Come Back.
