On September 6 and 7, 2019, Metallica performed two consecutive concerts to celebrate the opening of the Chase Center in San Francisco. During the two-and-a-half-hour show, the band played 20 songs. Michael Tilson Thomas, Musical Director of the San Francisco Symphony, also selected two unique classical songs. The concert was recorded and released in theaters in the United States in October 2019. S&M 2 has recently been reworked by the band, with the audio remixed and remastered.
This release contains four black LPs with a 16-page 12x12 booklet with photographs by Anton Corbijn.
