CAM Sugar and Decca Records France present a new, original compilation featuring the four iconic films. Academy Award-winning composer Philippe Sarde, legendary French director Claude Sautet, and iconic actress Romy Schneider collaborated on this project: four soundtracks, four musical portraits of Romy Schneider, at four different points in her life, as an artist and a woman.

This exceptional album brings together these four scores and songs for the first time. The compilation includes tracks such as the French and Italian versions of La Chanson d'Hélène by Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli; La Lettre de Rosalie by Romy Schneider (by César & Rosalie); and a world premiere recording: La Maison sur la plage (A House by the Sea), a lost song written by Sarde and Dabadie for Schneider in 1972, now elegantly recorded by Italian-French singer and actress Alice Taglioni especially for this project; Max et les ferrailleurs (including the title song by Mouloudji); and Une Histoire Simple.
Listening to these four soundtracks in a row reveals the magical chemistry between an actress, a director and a composer: “Because of her magnetism and her vulnerabilities, Romy is without a doubt the actress who inspired and moved me the most,” Philippe Sarde concludes melancholically.
