The Verve's story is a strange one. The British band was formed in 1990, releasing two albums in 1993 and 1995. Afterward, the band broke up, only to return two years later with their third and most successful album, "Urban Hymns." Following this success, the band broke up again, releasing only the compilation album "This Is Music" in 2004. Singer Richard Ashcroft embarked on a reasonably successful solo career, but in 2008 the band reunited for their fourth album, "Forth." After this, the band broke up for the third and (for now) final time. The compilation album "This Is Music" will be released on vinyl for the first time on January 24th. The tracklist has been slightly revised from the 2004 CD version. The two album tracks from "Urban Hymns" have been replaced by the single from the album "Forth," making the album a truly complete singles collection from this idiosyncratic Britpop band. "This Is Music" will be released as a 2-LP set on both black and colored vinyl.
