In March 2025, legendary saxophonist Charles Lloyd assembled a new trio of musical explorers, featuring Jason Moran on piano and Marvin Sewell on guitar, for his 87th birthday concert at the Lobero Theater in Santa Barbara. He immediately brought them into the studio to record his twelfth Blue Note album, Figure In Blue. The double album covers a wide musical range, from beautiful ballads to raw Delta blues, and includes stunning tributes to both Duke Ellington and Zakir Hussain.
