Stan van Samang
Stan van Samang is a versatile Belgian phenomenon. Since the turn of the millennium, we've known him as a (voice) actor in films and TV series, a TV personality, and a singer-composer. He was born on March 19, 1979, and was already active with his first bands as a teenager. However, Stan van Samang initially broke through as an actor. From 2001 onwards, he starred as Kevin De Kessel in the VTM TV series Wittekerke. He developed into a highly sought-after actor. He also played leading roles in TV series such as Vermist (Missing) and Zuidflank (South Flank). He also made guest appearances in Flikken, Amika, and Code 37. Stan van Samang can also be seen in films such as Buitenspel (Offside) and – again – Vermist (Missing). He also appears in TV programs such as The Masked Singer, Sing That Song, and Liefde Voor Muziek (Love for Music) – a show where artists sing each other's songs.
Music continues to draw him in. In 2007, Stan van Samang debuted with Welcome Home. As a singer of catchy pop and rock songs, he was also embraced by the general public. His debut album reached third place in the Belgian album charts and remained there for almost a year. At the end of 2007, Stan van Samang was awarded a Gold Record. Later, the album even went Platinum. In addition to original material and material written especially for him, it included a cover of James Blunt's "Don't Let Me Down." In the following years, albums like "Take It From Me" (2009) and "King In My Head" (2011) followed, with which he again reached the album top 10. His reputation as a stage performer was well captured on the live album "Liefde Voor Publiek" (2017). Stan van Samang celebrated his 10th anniversary as an artist at the end of 2017 with two concerts at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. "Vadertaal" was released in October 2024. This is Stan van Samang's first Dutch-language album. And with good reason. In these intimate songs, he shares with listeners the emotions and experiences associated with fatherhood. "Vaartaal" is therefore his most personal album. It will therefore be the central theme of his new theater tour.
