Description

The 6CD + 1 LP Queen I box set contains 63 tracks with 43 brand new mixes, comprising the original album with its intended running order restored, intimate fly-on-the-wall audio of Queen in the studio, demos, rare live tracks, BBC session performances and previously unheard recordings from Queen's first ever live performance in London, August 1970. Also included is the first official release of “Hangman”, a Queen composition which was a mainstay of their early live shows, but which was never recorded in the studio. Absent from the 1973 release, the song “Mad the Swine” has been reinstated to its original place in the running order. A 108-page book containing handwritten lyrics and memorabilia accompanies the release.

2024: Queen op 1

Wat is dat toch vaak het geval. Terugkijkend naar de 1e lp van Queen bijvoorbeeld en dan constateren hoe bijzonder die band destijds debuteerde. Wat een fantastische plaat. En ook al is er ‘gerommeld’ met de stem van Freddie, het mag de pret niet drukken. Puur genieten. Van het bonus materiaal was een deel al bekend van andere releases, maar ook nummers die niet eerder waren uitgebracht. De demo’s en rehearsals zijn ook meer dan de moeite waard. Van historische waarde zijn de eerste live opnames. Bootleg kwaliteit maar wel uniek! Bovendien bevat de box ook een prachtig boek. Aanrader!
