Blur's second album was a Britpop highlight. Damon Albarn drew inspiration from British music of the 1960s, particularly The Kinks, The Who, and The Small Faces, and while this album didn't reach the top of the charts, it was the prelude to two albums that did. Moreover, and most importantly, Modern Life Is Rubbish is a fantastic record.
