Eddie Vedder
Eddie Vedder is primarily the frontman of the successful American rock band Pearl Jam. Born on March 23, 1964, the singer can be heard on albums like Ten, Vs., Vitalogy, No Code, and more recent releases like Lightning Bolt, Gigaton, and Dark Matter. Although Pearl Jam is a prolific band and regularly tours the world, the singer also regularly finds time for solo albums, soundtrack contributions, guest appearances, and contributions to fellow band members' albums.
In 2007, Eddie Vedder provided the soundtrack for Into the Wild. The film is based on the true story of a young man and the fatal consequences of his self-imposed isolation in nature. Eddie Vedder's largely self-written songs perfectly match the film's desolate atmosphere. The soundtrack's success was so great that the singer even toured with it in 2008. His second solo album, Ukelele Songs, contains, as the title suggests, original songs and covers played on the ukulele. The 2022 release, Earthling, is a more traditional rock album. It was produced by Andrew Watt, known for his work with The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, Post Malone, and Ozzy Osbourne, among others.
Eddie Vedder contributed to albums and/or sang on stage with colleagues such as REM, The Who, Neil Young, Ramones, Cat Power, The Strokes, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Bad Religion, and members of The Doors. He also contributed to film soundtracks such as Dead Man Walking, I Am Sam, A Brokedown Melody, Eat Pray Love, and Flag Day. In 2024, however, Eddie Vedder focused primarily on his band: Pearl Jam toured the world promoting their current album, Dark Matter.
