EGYPT STATION — EXPLORER'S EDITION
May 17 Release Including Egypt Station II
ALBUM WITH ADDITIONAL STUDIO SONGS AND LIVE RECORDINGS
Paul McCartney has confirmed that Egypt Station – Explorer's Edition will be released on Capitol Records on May 17th. This expanded version of Paul's number one hit " Egypt Station" will be released just under a week before the start of the American leg of Paul's Freshen Up Tour , his first extensive concert tour in the United States since the One On One Tour , which saw him play to some two million fans worldwide.
Egypt Station was released on September 7 to rave reviews. Rolling Stone raved: “Macca keeps adding diamonds to his oeuvre with nothing left to prove except that he’s the only genius capable of such a thing… And, oh yeah, in his spare time, he’s still the most important live performer on the planet.” Entertainment Weekly described the album as “the still-vibrant force of a superstar who’s seen and done it all but is now just glad to be here.”
Egypt Station – Explorer's Edition contains↵in addition to the original album, a second album: Egypt↵Station II .
The bonus disc is a collection of all the songs released during the Egypt Station voyage, from studio tracks such as the surprise single Get Enough to live recordings captured during breaks at Abbey Road Studios, The Cavern and Grand Central Station, for example.
