The Heart, The Mind, The Soul is a three-part album by Tank and the Bangas. Each installment finds Tank working with a different collaborator: The Heart was produced by James Poyser, The Mind pairs her with Iman Omari, and The Soul, with producer and jazz musician Robert Glasper. On this album, Tank candidly shares the wisdom she's gained through new beginnings, endings, and transitions. The three-part structure sets this project apart from the rest of their catalog, as does Tank's special emphasis on poetry, collaborators, and sonic coherence. She explains, "It explores self-discovery, the journey to self-confidence, believing in your abilities, matters of the heart, mind, and the flow of free thought."
