Mozart's monumental work, with its aura of dramatic finality, is, under the baton of Karl Böhm, one of the finest Mozart interpretations of the 20th century. His clear yet dedicated perspective on Mozart, coupled with the class of the Vienna Philharmonic and a unique quartet of soloists (Edith Mathis, Julia Hamari, Wielaw Ochman, and Karl Ridderbusch), results in an extraordinary interpretation of the Requiem. To improve audio quality, the work has been re-distributed onto two LPs.
