Inhaler
Right from their debut album, Inhaler proves they're much more than just the band of Bono's son, U2's lead singer. While Elijah Hewson may have inherited his father's distinctive voice, musically the Irish band Inhaler forges its own path. In interviews, the singer and guitarist reveals they're inspired by British groups like the Stone Roses, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Oasis.
Inhaler formed in Dublin in 2012. Their first singles generated a buzz, especially when they were picked up by BBC Radio. In 2019, the band toured as support for The High Flying Birds, Oasis' Noel Gallagher's band. They also released an EP featuring the singles released to date: "It Won't Always Be Like This," "Oklahoma (Late Night Version), "My Honest Face," and "There's No Other Place." In 2021, their debut album, "It Won't Always Be Like This," finally arrived. The album, packed with energetic guitar songs, shot to number one on the UK album charts and also reached the Top 10 in the Netherlands.
Inhaler subsequently performed extensively. In 2022, the band played the prestigious Glastonbury festival and Pinkpop, among other venues. They also toured with Kings of Leon. In the years that followed, Inhaler also shared the bill with Pearl Jam, Harry Styles, Arctic Monkeys, and Sam Fender. Their second album, Cuts & Bruises, was released in 2023 and proved another success. Their third album, Open Wide, released in 2024, was preceded by the single "Your House." This exuberant song demonstrated that Inhaler had finally emerged from the shadow of their parents' home.
