Christy Moore | The Early Years (2LP)
Release date: November 20, 2020
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Christy Moore is an Irish folk musician and singer-songwriter. Besides an impressive solo career, he was a member of the band Planxty for a time, starting in 1972.
Much of his music has political overtones: the environment, social injustices, and poverty; his lifelong struggle with alcohol is also a frequent theme in his songs. On his albums, he frequently collaborates with other Irish artists like Mary Black, The Dubliners, and Sinead O'Connor. Early in his career, he also frequently performed with his younger brother Barry—who later became known as Luka Bloom.
This first retrospective focuses on his solo career from 1969 to 1981. Album tracks and live recordings are featured. Many of these are being released for the first time on these releases; others were only available on rare vinyl releases.
This 2LP contains 25 tracks (some of which are previously unreleased)
