The eleven tracks Steven Wilson compiled on this album, some of which were performed by veterans Nick Beggs, Craig Blundell, and Adam Holzman, offer a contemporary take on pop music that combines impact and emotion, delivered with verve and quality. The songs capture and hold your attention, and the playing skills of the participating musicians, including the guest musicians, are beyond doubt. With every spin, you discover something new. And it's already so good. It was Hand. Cannot. Erase that performed its magic in a musical time machine. This album has the class of the individual tracks, and you sense that the album still has room for improvement. What is certain is that it is a very beautiful album. While it may not quite match its fantastic predecessor, it comes very close: in all its compositions, variety, layering, and execution, few things can match it.
