In July 1955, at the age of 19, Luciano Pavarotti traveled to Wales to participate in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. This music competition was won by a wide margin by the choir in which both Luciano and his father sang. Pavarotti later considered this a pivotal moment in his life, leading him to consider a career as a professional singer. Forty years later, in 1995, he fulfilled a promise he had made to himself and many others throughout his extraordinary career: he returned to Llangollen to give a very special concert. This is the previously unreleased recording of that historic concert, which took place at the height of his fame, five years after the Three Tenors' concert in Rome.
