Composer, producer, and pianist Yu-Peng Chen unveils his first original album for Deutsche Grammophon, The Poem of Life, a deeply personal symphonic work conceived as a musical journey through the stages of life. Moving away from gaming music, Yu-Peng Chen exploits his talent of storytelling through music in this new album, blending Western classical traditions with Chinese musical sensibilities to unfold a series of richly evocative movements, capturing childhood curiosity, youthful ambition, first love, personal growth, fulfilment, loss, and acceptance.

Recorded with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Zhang Liang, the album represents Chen’s most intimate artistic statement to date. Drawing inspiration from centuries of classical music history while remaining unmistakably contemporary, The Poem of Life brings together diverse musical voices.
