On sophomore album, “Respect The Hustle, I Won’t Be Your Dog Forever”, Belgian speed-noise band RONKER sounds more ambitious than ever. A concept-album about coping mechanisms and the antics of a rock&rolllifestyle.
The band is presenting a more layered and sophisticated sound than its predecessor; the result is a record that is equally shaped by the likes of David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars as it is by Refused or Slayer. Still as aggressive as before, but with a more old-school approach to songwriting with big choruses and even bigger riffage.
Although RONKER likes to profile themselves as pleasant rascals with big hearts full of love, they are not really known for being the happiest kids in school. Now the time has come to bring that anger to the stages again and burn down the expectations with a new batch of big speed-noise songs. Always suffering, forever nervous.
Respect the hustle. Unleash the dogs of war. The RONK is coming.
