Originally released in 1981, Give the People What They Want continued The Kinks' successful early-'80s resurgence with its direct, guitar-driven sound and sharp, contemporary songwriting. One of the band's strongest-performing releases in the United States, the album features standout tracks including "Destroyer," "Better Things," and "Around the Dial," showcasing Ray Davies' unmistakable wit alongside the band's energetic rock sound.
