For Those Who Chant is opgenomen in de Columbia Studios in San Francisco en uitgebracht in 1972. Trompettist Luis Gasca schakelde een ‘who’s who’ in van de topmuziekgemeenschap van de stad uit die periode. De cast is overvloedig, met Carlos Santana en Neal Schon (Journey) op gitaar, een ritmesectie van Lenny White op drums, Stanley Clarke op bas en de ontembare Joe Henderson op tenorsaxofoon. De set zit vol chemie en uitstekend muzikaal vakmanschap.
