TRACKS II: THE LOST ALBUMS are seven previously unheard Bruce Springsteen albums made between 1983 and 2018.
Featuring 82 previously unreleased tracks, The Lost Albums fill in chapters of Springsteen's extensive career timeline, while offering invaluable insights into his life and work as an artist. "The Lost Albums were complete records, some even to the point of being mixed and unreleased," Springsteen said. "I've been playing this music for years, both for myself and often for close friends. I'm glad you finally get the chance to hear it. I hope you enjoy it."
From the lo-fi exploration of LA Garage Sessions '83, which served as a crucial link between Nebraska and Born in the USA, to the drum loops and synthesizer sounds of Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, The Lost Albums offer unprecedented context for 35 productive years of Springsteen's songwriting and home recording. "The ability to record at home whenever I wanted gave me the opportunity to explore a wide variety of musical directions," Springsteen explained. Throughout the set, that sonic experimentation takes the form of film music (for a film that was never made) on "Faithless," pedal steel-infused country combos on "Somewhere North of Nashville," richly woven frontier narratives on "Inyo," orchestral mid-century noir on "Twilight Hours," and E Street-favorite rock on "Perfect World."
The Lost Albums are available in a limited edition of nine LPs and seven CDs, including original packaging for each previously unreleased record, a 100-page, cloth-bound hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album by essayist Erik Flannigan, and a personal introduction to the project by Springsteen himself.
