A modern troubadour, a first-class singer-songwriter, a musician who brings his audience into an almost religious ecstasy, that is Ben Howard
Every Kingdom is his debut album. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter has been making waves on the British club circuit and has self-released two successful EPs. A year after his first EP, Howard is releasing Old Pine. This mini-album is primarily intended by the Brit as a warm-up for his upcoming release.
Every Kingdom ultimately turned out to be a process that took over two years. "I recorded the album in an old barn in Devon, which gave me plenty of time to tinker with the songs, as studio costs were minimal. That's tricky, of course, because a track is never truly finished. I'm proud of the final result, but secretly I hope to look back on this period in a few years and think, 'That could have been better.' It would be a sign to me that I've grown."
