Will Tura 85: The ultimate ode to the Emperor of Flemish song
This year, Will Tura celebrates his 85th birthday! The man whose music has been the soundtrack for generations deserves a tribute that does justice to his legacy. Universal Music Belgium therefore presents Tura 85, a special compilation that captures the timeless magic of Will Tura in one ultimate collection.
This is no ordinary best-of. This compilation was born from the love of the fans themselves. After a call to vote for the ultimate Will Tura hits, the response yielded a wealth of favorites. From this beloved selection, thirteen iconic tracks were chosen, including classics like "Eenzaam Zonder Jou," "Hoop Doet Leven," and "Ik Mis Je Zo" (I Miss You So Much). These songs, deeply ingrained in our collective memory, form the core of the compilation.
But the tribute doesn't stop there. Tura 85 is more than just a trip down memory lane. It also shows how Will Tura's music has inspired other artists over the years. The second disc contains a selection of twelve of the best covers, collected on vinyl for the first time. The list is a unique mix: from the raw energy of Noordkaap and Triggerfinger, to the poetic interpretations of Raymond van het Groenewoud and Bart Peeters, to the surprising freshness of #LikeMe and Clouseau. This is proof that Will Tura's music spans generations and is still very much alive.
Tura 85 is a celebration of memories, a discovery for younger listeners, and a warm tribute to a legend. The album will be released on October 17th as a double LP on sky-blue vinyl and as a 2-CD set. The perfect way to celebrate Will Tura's immortal legacy.
