The album "Fania Records: The Latin Sound of New York Singles Collection (1964-1978)" is a two-disc LP set featuring sixteen major salsa/Latin soul classics from the key artists who made the label famous. The release is part of the label's 60th anniversary celebrations in 2024.
The album features some of Fania's most prominent artists, including Willie Colón, Héctor Lavoe, Rubén Blades, Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Fania All Stars, Joe Bataan, Eddie Palmieri, Pete Rodriguez, and Ismael Rivera. This special compilation includes archival footage and liner notes in English and Spanish by music historian, author, artist, and activist Aurora Flores. Fania Records has been one of the world's most important Latin labels musically and culturally since the 1960s, and has been a pioneer in developing and spreading the sound of salsa music from New York City throughout the world.
