The Velvet Underground & Nico is the debut album by the American experimental rock group The Velvet Underground , in collaboration with German singer Nico from 1967
Artist Andy Warhol had a major influence on the album's production and designed the distinctive cover, featuring a bright yellow pop-art banana on a stark white background. On the original release, this banana was a sticker covering another, flesh-colored banana. Although the album wasn't a huge success at the time, it's now considered one of the most progressive and influential albums of all time.
