Saxophonist Walter Smith III pays tribute to his birthplace of Houston, Texas, on his second Blue Note album, "Three of Us Are from Houston and Reuben Not." The album's ironic title reflects the lineup, which includes two other Houston musicians—pianist Jason Moran and drummer Eric Harland. Bassist Reuben Rogers, originally from the Virgin Islands, completes the quartet. Together they bring to life 10 original tracks by Smith and an imaginative rendition of the Sam Rivers composition "Point of Many Returns."
