Good news for true fans and collectors of The Wild Magnolias: to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their debut album, Decca Records is presenting a vinyl box set. It includes two original Barclay albums, along with four bonus tracks and two previously unreleased remixes. The complete series consists of the following albums: "The Wild Magnolias," "They Call Us Wild," and a disc with bonus songs and previously unreleased remixes: "Bonus Tracks & Remixes." The 3-LP set will be released on 140-gram vinyl in a limited edition box with the original covers of LP1 and LP2.
The group's music is a funk-inspired collaboration between Willie Tee, the New Orleans Project, and the powerful voice of leader Bo Dollis. Five decades later, these Wild Magnolias recordings remain among the most vibrant and precious representations of the New Orleans soul.
