Description
Description:
Marvin Gaye is a musical legend who tragically died too young. On April 1, 1984, 30 years ago, he was shot by his father during an argument that got out of hand. He would have turned 45 the next day.
Marvin Gaye's musical legacy lives on, however, and that's why the Marvin Gaye Collected is being released. It's a wonderful overview of his biggest hits and his most important songs. In his early days, he primarily wrote pop and love songs in the vein of the Motown hits of the time. His later work is characterized by more politically and socially charged lyrics.
CD3 contains an overview of the many duets Marvin recorded with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, Tammi Terrell and Diana Ross, among others.
