Samara Joy (born in 1998) has just graduated, but she's already part of the promising new generation of jazz singers. Raised in a musical family in New York, she now reaches millions of people worldwide with videos on her social media accounts. Famous Hollywood actors Regina King and Lakeith Stanfield have also expressed their fandom. Some even compare her voice to that of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Sarah Vaughan. "Linger Awhile" is her debut album on Verve Records, on which she performs well-known jazz standards, including "Can't Get Out Of This Mood" and "Sweet Pumpkin."
