The album 'What is Sarah Neutkens thinking?' is by Eindhoven-based composer and pianist Sarah Neutkens (24). "There are feelings and thoughts in life that you can't put into words, they come out for me through music," says Sarah. For this double album, she wrote a composition for string quartet, which was recorded by the Alma Quartet, consisting of members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. "It was a pleasure working with Sarah. We were given complete freedom to bring the music she put on paper to life," says Marc Daniel van Biemen, the quartet's principal pianist. The second part of the album consists of pieces for solo piano, which Sarah played and recorded herself. In addition to the first single "Hexagon," "Rigel," and "I Saw A Crowd," it also includes a piano arrangement of "Other Echoes," a piece she previously composed as a string quartet.
