With Origins, Lucie Horsch explores the connection between her instrument, the recorder, and folk music. The result is a surprising blend of different musical styles, rarely combined on a single album. For this album, Lucie collaborated with musicians from a wide range of backgrounds. The album includes works by Piazzolla recorded with bandoneonist Carel Kraayenhof and the Ludwig ensemble, works by Bartók in her own arrangement for recorder and cimbalom, improvised music with a kora player from Senegal, and even a few jazz pieces recorded with the band Fuse.
