With her new album, "City Lights," violinist Lisa Batiashvili takes you on a musical journey through eleven cities around the world. These places hold special meaning for her, both in her personal life and her career. From her native Georgia, to Munich, Helsinki, Buenos Aires, and New York.
The music ranges from JS Bach and Johann Strauss to Michel Legrand and Astor Piazzolla, and features collaborations with composer-arranger Nikoloz Rachveli, Katie Melua, Till Brönner, Miloš Karadaglić and Maximilian Hornung, among others.
All tracks are specially arranged and previously unrecorded. This includes a new arrangement of music from Charlie Chaplin's films. As a Chaplin admirer, Batiashvili also references one of his films in the album's title.
