Recorderist Lucie Horsch pays tribute to Frans Brüggen with the Frans Brüggen Project, a pioneer of authentic performance practice who founded the tradition in which Lucie grew up as a recorder player and musician. Over the years, Frans Brüggen amassed a remarkable collection of historical recorders from the period 1680-1740. With the permission of Brüggen's widow, Lucie breathes new life into these recorders on The Brüggen Project. The album was recorded with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, which Brüggen founded. Violinist Rachel Podger and cellist Albert Brüggen, Frans's nephew, also play on the album.
