Description

Composer and producer Sven Helbig is creating 'Requiem A' to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, in honor of the victims of war, and as a profound plea for peace.

The world premiere will take place on February 9, 2025, at the Kreuzkirche in Dresden, performed by the Dresden Kreuzchor, the Saxon State Orchestra, and the acclaimed bass-baritone René Pape. The recording will be released by Deutsche Grammophon on May 9, 2025.

With further performances planned in Coventry and beyond, this poignant work aims to serve as a universal message of remembrance, reconciliation and cultural exchange.
