Description
It was the performance that launched his career, garnered 16 million views on YouTube, and catapulted him to fame. Pianist Yunchan Lim, then 18 years old, played Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto during the final of the 2022 Van Cliburn Competition. He delivered a phenomenal and moving performance that brought tears to the eyes of conductor Marin Alsop and many in the audience. "From the moment we started playing together, I noticed how incredibly musical Yunchan was, and that he seemed more like an old soul than a young artist," Marin Alsop said afterward. The live recording of this final is now available on this album.
