Description
With over 30 million records sold worldwide and four consecutive number one hits in the Netherlands alone, Anneke Grönloh remains the most successful singer in Dutch music history. The Netherlands' first pop idol grew into an international star and built an impressive career over six decades with an equally impressive musical oeuvre. This complete oeuvre is brought together in the 25-CD box set "Anneke Grönloh: A Song for You." It features 529 songs sung in 10 languages and genres ranging from Dutch sing-alongs to Malay lullabies, rock 'n' roll, jazz, German schlagers, and French chansons. In addition to all the studio recordings Anneke Grönloh ever made, this box set contains over 100 previously unreleased live recordings from the singer's private archive. In addition to golden hits like "Brandend zand," "Paradiso," "Soerabaja," "Nina Bobo," and "Da Doe Ron Ron," over 60 singles and LPs make their CD debuts. As a bonus, several special tribute tracks have been added, featuring prominent admirers ranging from Wim Kan to Stampei. The highly personal foreword in the comprehensive booklet accompanying the CD box set was written by Anneke Grönloh's lifelong friend Rob de Nijs. He is featured as a vocal partner in several previously unreleased duets from the late 1960s. 'Een Lied Voor Jou' (A Song for You) collects for the first time the complete musical legacy of one of the Netherlands' greatest and most
