No Tears In My Champagne (CD)

A career in music has many facets. A rough diamond gradually becomes more polished, gaining a little more shine. This is also the case with Dutch singer Nona, who has gained an extra sparkle with her second album, "No Tears In My Champagne."

Her confidence grew as she wrote new material, writing from the heart. It was a sometimes confrontational approach, but it also resulted in sincere and personal lyrics: "I have to completely expose myself, reflect on personal experiences. You often discover along the way that something was clearly bothering you."

She collaborated with a host of songwriters and producers, ranging from Benny Sings and Yoda to Wouter Hardy and producer Gordon Groothedde, over a long period of time. This resulted in an album full of captivating soul-pop with an edgy hip-hop groove, such as on 'Daydream Eyes'. 'No Tears In My Champagne' is the follow-up to Nona's eponymous debut album from 2019.
