Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello, originally from Cuban and Mexican descent, is a pop singer who has never lost sight of her Latin music roots. Born on March 3, 1997, in Havana, Cuba, she also spent part of her childhood in Mexico. She eventually settled in the United States with her parents. She initially rose to fame thanks to the wildly popular girl group Fifth Harmony. She launched her solo career with the single "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (2015), which she recorded with Shawn Mendes, and "Bad Thing" (2016), which she recorded with Machine Gun Kelly.
At the end of 2016, she left Fifth Harmony. Two years later, she debuted with Camila. Her first album, produced by Frank Dukes, Skrillex, and T-Minus, among others, showcased a colorful sound, with influences from hip-hop, dance, pop, and Latin. Her roots are clearly evident in Havanna, the first single from her debut. This success story continued perfectly in 2019 with the vibrant Romance, which reached number three on the Billboard album chart. She scored a hit single with "My Oh My," which she recorded with DaBaby. Camila Cabello enjoys collaborations. In 2019, for example, she recorded the song "South Of The Border" with Ed Sheeran and Cardi B. In 2021, she toured Latin American countries supporting Coldplay. A year later, Belgian singer Stromae released a new mix of his song "Mon Amour" featuring Camila Cabello on vocals. Her roots in Latin pop are clearer than ever on her new album Familia, which will be released in 2022. In 2024, C,XOXO will be released through her new record label Geffen/Interscope. In interviews she says that this time she used her musical freedom to the fullest. The album also includes guest contributions from Playboi Carti, Lil Nas X, JT and Yung Miami of City Girls, BLP Kosher and Drake. The album therefore feels like a new beginning for Camila Cabello.
