The 'lost' album "Just Coolin'" by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers was recorded on March 8, 1959, at Rudy van Gelder's studio in New Jersey. The legendary jazz drummer collaborated with trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley, pianist Bobby Timmons, and bassist Jymie Merritt, a short-lived lineup of The Jazz Messengers. The album consists of six pieces, including two brand-new compositions: "Quick Trick" and "Jimerick."
