Billie Eilish, Pirate Baird O'Connell, was born in Los Angeles in 2001 into a musical environment. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be a singer. One of the first times the outside world heard of her was with the song "Ocean Eyes," written by her brother Finneas, who initially intended it for his own band.
