AURORA

Her full name is Aurora Aksnes. Born on June 15, 1996, in Stavanger, Norway, the singer has emerged since 2015 as one of Scandinavia's most influential, controversial, and, above all, successful artists. Aurora's albums offer a surprising combination of indie pop, dance, and folk. She also stands out thanks to her unadorned appearance. Pure nature. The singer also regularly speaks out on important social and global issues, such as how we as humans treat the planet.

Aurora is a born singer. At just six, she wrote and sang her first songs. In the years that followed, she continued to develop and began sharing her songs on social media. In 2015, her first EP, Running With Wolves, was released, featuring the hit "Runaway." That same year, she also made a splash with the Oasis cover "Half the World Away," which she recorded for an advertising campaign. This was the lead-up to "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend," which was released worldwide in 2016. Her debut album was met with widespread critical acclaim. Aurora  receives much praise for the colorful songs and lyrics in which she does not shy away from major themes such as nature, love, death and (other) more human experiences.

In interviews she says she listened to a lot of metal in her younger years. As a singer she often points to Anne Brun, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Kate Bush, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, The Byrds, Adele, Oasis, Björk and Underworld as her main influences. In the years after her debut she released albums such as Infections Of A Different Kind (Step 1) (2018), A Different Kind Of Human (Step 2) (2019), The Gods We Can Touch (2022) and What Happened To The Heart? (2024) – the latter with a guest appearance by Anne Brun, among others. Aurora also worked with The Chemical Brothers and Tom Odell. The singer also contributes to TV series, films and games such as Girls, Frozen II, Wolfwalkers, One Piece, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Sky: Children of the Light and Assassin's Creed. In 2022 she collaborated with the renowned soundtrack composer Hans Zommer for Frozen Planet II.
